For 3D printing of an object that has to withstand twisting, both ABS filament and PETG can be good choices, but they have different characteristics that can affect the decision

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

It has a tensile strength ranging from 30 to 100 MPa, depending on the formula and additives used during production1.
It is known for its impact resistance, rigidity and heat resistance 1.
It is less expensive and has a greater elasticity than PLA, which allows it to have a higher elongation at breakage and to be more resistant to flexion1.
However, it is less UV resistant than PETG, which can cause faster degradation when exposed to sunlight.

PETG (glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate)

It has a tensile strength between 30 and 50 MPa1.
It stands out for being one of the most durable 3D printing materials available 1.
It is more flexible than PLA and ABS, has a softer and smoother finish, and an elongation at breakage that exceeds 25%, depending on the formula1.
It is the best filament for outdoor use as it is more resistant to UV2 rays.

In conclusion, if the object will be exposed to UV rays or requires greater durability, PETG may be the best choice.

If the cost is a decisive factor and the object will not be exposed to direct sunlight, the ABS could be adequate. Also consider your 3D printer specifications and your previous experiences with these materials.
